4-H encourages diverse groups of youth to develop their unique skills and talents to the fullest potential. Young people participate in 4-H through clubs, special interest groups, after-school programs, camps and many other activities. “Learning by doing” through hands on activities and community involvement empowers 4-H’ers to develop and strengthen life skills.

Youth participate in 4-H through school 4-H clubs, community clubs, special interest groups, after-school programs, camps and many other activities. Although there are many common activities, each county in Tennessee has its own unique programs and areas of emphasis.

4-H is a unique educational program for students in elementary through high school. It encourages diverse groups of youth to develop their skills and talents to the fullest. As 4-H’ers, youth actively participate in activities, events and projects that develop and strengthen life skills. 4-H is open to everyone. Each county has exciting and fun programs!

4-H offers many camping opportunities through local day camps as well as state & regional overnight camps. Below is more information about each camping opportunity, for additional information, please call 931-296-2543.

4-H Junior Camp

4-H Junior Camp is for youth who have completed grades 4-6. This five-day resident camp offers excellent youth programing. Activities include swimming, shooting sports, group sports and recreation, nature hikes, woodworking, T-shirt airbrushing, crafts, skits, music and more! W.P. Ridley 4-H Center in Columbia, TN.

4th-6th grades

Dates: June 8-June 12, 2026

Cost: $360 (includes transportation and t-shirt)

4-H O.W.L.S. Camp

4-H O.W.L.S. (Outdoor, Wildlife, Leadership, Service) camp is held at Brandon Springs at Land Between The Lakes in Dover. 4-H’ers will enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, swimming, fishing, canoeing, campfires, enjoying nature and doing service projects.

6th-10th grades

Dates: May 26-29, 2026

Cost: $210 (includes transportation and t-shirt)

4-H Kids in the Kitchen Camp

Kids in the Kitchen Camp is a great opportunity to teach kids how to cook meals from different countries, and learning knife and measuring skills, among many other activities that involve being in the kitchen. This camp will be held at the Waverly United Methodist Church, 115 W. Main St. in Waverly.

3rd-6th Grade

DATES: July 28-30, 2026

COST: $60

Culinary U Camp

4-H members will develop strategies for safe food handling and food safety practices. They will also develop leadership and communication skills. 4-H’ers will also gain professional development experience to include in their portfolio. This camp also offers a “real chef” experience, allowing teenagers to explore culinary creativity and gain independence in the kitchen. Culinary U Camp is held at UT Martin.

8th-12th grades

Dates: July 8-10, 2026

Cost: $110 (does NOT include transportation)
